We are facing a serious crisis in the variety of animals, plants, their habitats and their genes. This year 2010 is affected by this variety, so called biodiversity. The International Union for Conservation of Nature, IUCN, developed an international project to save species and ecosystems, „Countdown 2010“.  Zoos and organisations world wide are joining in. Also our zoo gets involved with this campaign, representing how much humans rely on nature.
