Digital zoo guide for children from preschool to 2nd grade

For us at the Görlitz-Zgorzelec nature conservation zoo, it is a matter of the heart to counteract the increasing alienation of nature and to sensitize the youngest of our society to nature and species protection at an early stage.

With the digital scout "Kids 4 Wildlife 2020", the digital zoo guide for children from preschool to 2nd grade, knowledge about our animals and nature is conveyed sustainably. This step into the digital world was supported by the Infotech company. On the basis of donations for the 25th company anniversary, we can currently offer daycare and school groups a tablet to borrow to explore the zoo with digital accompaniment.

Dear adults,
The present zoo guide should support you in a pedagogically meaningful way to accompany visits to the nature reserve zoo Görlitz-Zgorzelec. WE would like to put you in a position to provide your protégés with age-appropriate and playful information about our animals and nature. We are happy to pass on our expertise.

Interesting facts and exciting games about animals and plants are waiting to be discovered at twelve zoo-educational stations. The individual stations are designed in a uniform manner: questions and requests are printed in bold and italics that you can address directly to the children. The following normally written paragraphs briefly and succinctly contain the answers and additional background knowledge to be passed on. In addition, exclusive video material or a tricky puzzle is available.

In order to offer the greatest possible flexibility, the individual stations are designed in a self-contained manner and do not build on one another in terms of content. Simply put together your own tours of the zoo from various stations - depending on the interests and possibilities of the "kids". The following map provides an overview of the locations in the zoo.

Or you simply plan to experience exactly one station every month! To do this, we have already organized them in the way that they can best be managed in the course of the year. For example, the station "bees" the 6th station. It is therefore scheduled for June, when a particularly large number of bees and insects can be observed. In cold January, on the other hand, it is best to warm up at station 1 in the twitter room.

Do you have any comments, ideas or questions about the Digital Scout? The team at our zoo school looks forward to your feedback!
