May we introduce ...

In the main season (April to October), free animal presentations take place every Friday to Sunday at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. *.
In a quarter of an hour you can immerse yourself in the world of zoo residents, learn interesting facts about animal husbandry in the zoo, endangerment of individual species and the peculiarities of one or the other animal species.

You can find out which presentations you expect for your visit from the information signs behind the cash register.

We currently offer the following changing presentations:

Red Pandas

can smell with the bottom of their tongue and mark their way with the soles of their feet.

Vietnam sika deer

have died out in the wild. Breeding in the zoos should preserve this subspecies with the aim of resettling animals in their natural habitat.

Bactrian animals

can easily drink salt water and vary their body temperature.

Porcupines

are born with a full spiked dress, which, however, only hardens after ten days - fortunately for the mother.

Gold-headed lion monkeys

have already lost 90% of their original habitat and contribute to the spread of many plants by taking in and eliminating seeds.

Rhesus monkeys

Research into the rhesus factor on rhesus monkeys can still save many lives today.

Giant kangaroos

can jump 13.5m and 2-3m high on the run.

Banded mongoose

tolerate 6x more snake venom than rabbits and raise their kittens together as a group.

Pallas's cats

live in mountains up to 4800m, their bushy tails are perfectly protected from the cold.

Qishan

is our Chinese mountain aviary. Here live among others Chinese parakeets that can use their beak in a special way.

Otter

can stay under water for up to eight minutes and help to keep the fish population healthy by eating sick animals.

Honeybees

fly 3 times around the world for a 500g jar of honey. It is the lifework of 200 bees.

Pigs

have 1000 times more olfactory cells than people on their noses.

Rabbits

have a stomach that must always be filled. They eat about 100 small meals a day.

Chicken

can distinguish colors and shapes, feel with their beaks and are as smart as a three-year-old child..

Griffon vulture

prevent the outbreak of diseases by quickly eating carrion. With our vulture offspring we support a release project in Bulgaria.

Alpine ibex

were exterminated up to 100 animals. Thanks to protection, breeding and resettlement, there are now around 40,000 animals in the wild - rescue succeeded in the last second!
