The multifunctional cultural facility of Görlitz-Zgorzelec Conservation Zoo presents around 500 animals in over 100 species on an area of five hectares in a beautiful park. The zoo specializes in European and Central Asian wildlife and domestic animals including endangered species such as otters and red pandas. The Tibetan village is innovative and unique in Germany which is a place where Central Asian pets live and the visitor gets an insight into the rural life of Tibet. The ensemble of the Oberlausitzer farm offers the range of domestic pets up close. On the one hand, animal contact and experience, the conservation of endangered species and the intensive promotion of the preservation of our nature are the most important tasks of Görlitz zoo. Discovery barns and themed playgrounds not only delight but they also encourage playful discussion of topics related to nature, species and animal welfare.
