In the spawning season, they often cross roads,

that cross their path to the spawning waters and are run over there.

To remedy this situation, more and more amphibian fences are to be erected and looked after.

This way we can protect amphibians

from certain death on the busy roads and ensure their survival in the great outdoors.

These are particularly endangered at the time of the toad migration.

With the donations of the sponsors

the amphibian protection fence is extended on important hiking trails along the Lurche.

As part of the child and youth work, amphibian controls were carried out in the sections, in which one immediately learned to differentiate between all relevant species and learned a lot about the protection. In Tauer, for example, the total number of amphibians in 2015 was 4,889, including 1,026 common toads and 660 moor frogs.
