Get to know and experience

A day in the zoo school is always something very special, and in addition to many impressions from the direct animal and nature experience, some exciting facts are guaranteed to remain. Especially for children with little animal contact, there is the possibility to see, hear, smell and even feel them in the house and pet area! This is where the love for animals themselves, for different animal species and for nature can develop - an invaluable development process!

The teaching of the live animal includes both technical-biological, social, cultural and playful aspects. Guided tours, rallies or lessons are used in our zoo school. Targeted observations, interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary learning capture biological relationships. Sustainability, nature and environmental protection are of central importance in the Görlitz nature conservation zoo, so that willingness to act and competence to act in these areas are encouraged in a playful manner.

For appointments, topics and lessons, please contact us at least two weeks in advance via our online booking request.
Here you will find our price list.

Please remind your protégés of weatherproof clothing and optionally of paper, pen and writing pad.
We reserve the right to cancel guided tours or lessons if the participants repeatedly behave excessively loudly or in violation of the visitor regulations. Only the supervisors (teachers, daycare teachers, parents etc.) are responsible for educational measures.

Our well-equipped zoo school is available for vivid lessons in the classroom. In addition to a total of 30 seats, modern projector technology, blackboard and lectern with speakers, showcases with various exhibits or our historical hand-painted origin cards provide the right learning atmosphere.

In addition to classical lessons, specialist lectures are regularly held here, e.g. as part of our "Zoo discussions for seniors" or special workshops for teachers, photographers and other target groups.

We are partners of KuBiMobil!

KuBiMobil is a cultural education project that offers your educational institution the opportunity to apply for a grant to travel to various cultural institutions in the cultural area of Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia. Since August 2019, all other groups, such as clubs, associations, living or self-help groups, among others, can have the trip to a cultural institution that cooperates with KuBiMobil.

For example, you and your group will visit a museum, theater or a zoo in the cultural area and take advantage of one of the accompanying educational offers from the respective institution. Per person who takes part in an offer supported by KuBiMobil, only € 2.00 own contribution will be charged for the journey. The project reimburses any additional travel costs. Become a climate school!

Climate change and its consequences will shape the future of future generations. It is therefore all the more important that students, teachers and parents deal intensively with this topic. The "Climate Schools in Saxony" initiative aims to anchor the topics of climate change, climate impacts and climate protection in Saxon schools in the long term and to encourage them to develop their own focus on climate schools.
