During the spawning season they often cross roads

that cross their path to the spawning waters and are run over.

To remedy this situation more and more amphibian fences will be build and maintained.

In that way we can protect amphibians

from certain death on the busy roads and ensure their survival in the wild.

They are particularly endangered at the time of the toad migration.

With the donations of the sponsors

the amphibian protection fence will be extended on important migration routes.

As part of the child and youth work amphibian controls were carried out in the sections in which one immediately learned to differ between all relevant species and learned a lot about the protection. In Tauer for example the total number of amphibians in 2015 was 4,889 including 1,026 common toads and 660 moor frogs.
